Dr. PhysiQ Global Health & Wellness Ltd has hosted members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Correspondents’ Chapel, as part of ongoing engagements ahead of the 2026 NUJ Health Conference scheduled for April 30.

The meeting, described as productive and engaging, highlighted the growing need for collaboration between the media and healthcare providers in promoting public health awareness and preventive care.

Leading the NUJ delegation, Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Felix Ojo, emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing community wellbeing.

He disclosed that the Chapel has a membership strength of over 2,000 journalists, with about 300 expected to participate in the upcoming health event.

Ojo explained that the initiative represents the second phase of the Chapel’s Health Awareness Workshop, introduced following a series of untimely deaths recorded among its members last year.

According to him, the development underscored the urgent need to promote health consciousness among journalists, who often neglect their wellbeing due to the demands of the profession.

“The NUJ Health Conference is not only for journalists but also for the general public, as we aim to bridge the gap in health awareness and encourage preventive healthcare practices,” he said.

The NUJ Health Conference 2026, now in its second edition, is a solution-driven platform designed to bring together policymakers, regulators, financiers, pharmacists, health professionals, and the media to address critical gaps in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

Representing Dr. PhysiQ Global Health & Wellness Ltd at the meeting were top management staff, including AbdulRahaman M. Huzaifa, Chief Medical Consultant; Yusuf Yunusa Otinawu, Chief Pharmacist and Consultant to the CEO; Anthony Momoh, Chief Medical Director; and Akanbi Olasunkanmi, Marketing Director.

Discussions centered on preparations for the April 30 event, with both parties expressing optimism about its potential to drive impactful conversations and improve public health outcomes.

The management team of Dr. PhysiQ emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, preventive healthcare, and access to accurate health information in reducing avoidable deaths.

They noted that strengthening collaboration with the media would enhance public enlightenment and help address widespread health challenges, including non-communicable diseases and limited healthcare access.

Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging the upcoming conference as a platform to promote health awareness, encourage behavioural change, and support policy-driven solutions for Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
