Winnie Enun Eka-Williams, daughter of the Cross River State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Prince Eka Williams, has been called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
She was among the 6,010 newly qualified legal practitioners admitted during the July 2026 Call to Bar ceremonies held from July 7 to 10 at the Body of Benchers Complex in Jabi, Abuja, marking the successful completion of the academic and professional requirements for legal practice in Nigeria.
The achievement was celebrated by her parents, Prince and Mrs. Eka Williams, family members, friends and well-wishers, particularly from Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, who described the milestone as a reward for her resilience, dedication and commitment to excellence.
A reception held in her honour attracted several dignitaries, including former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN; the member representing Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Abang; Hon. Njang Ndoma; the Mayor of Ikom; and other distinguished guests.
An alumna of Baze University, Abuja, Barrister Eka-Williams holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree and has built a reputation beyond the legal profession as a writer, educator and advocate for personal development.
She is the founder of Crossing the Bridge, a book club dedicated to promoting literary engagement and meaningful discussions among young readers and creatives. She also hosts Light in Law, a YouTube series where she simplifies legal concepts for students and aspiring lawyers.
A published author, she has written Home, her second book, reflecting her passion for storytelling and inspiring positive change. Through her social media platforms, she shares perspectives on law, literature and personal growth.
Family, friends and associates have expressed confidence that her call to the Bar marks the beginning of a distinguished legal career, with expectations that she will make significant contributions to the legal profession and national development through integrity, scholarship and service.
