Nigeria’s newest airline, BINANI AIR, has marked its first 30 days of commercial operations, describing the milestone as a testament to years of planning, investment, and commitment to safety and service excellence.
Reflecting on the airline’s first month in operation, Group President Aminatu Dahiru Chiroma said the experience has been both humbling and inspiring, noting that the airline’s achievements extend far beyond the number of flights completed.
“We are not just flying aircraft; we are connecting dreams, opportunities, and people,” Chiroma stated.
According to her, while passengers witness aircraft departures and arrivals, every flight represents extensive preparation, regulatory compliance, personnel training, operational readiness, and strategic planning.
“What people do not see are the countless hours of training, operational readiness, certification processes, and planning that make each flight possible. These 30 days represent much more than flights operated; they represent the fulfillment of a vision conceived long before the first aircraft left the runway,” she said.
The airline said the positive response from passengers, travel partners, and industry stakeholders has strengthened confidence in its long-term vision. The Management noted that each successful flight and positive customer experience reinforces its commitment to safety, professionalism, and service quality.
Chiroma described the airline’s inaugural flight as one of the most emotional moments of the journey, recalling the significance of seeing passengers board with expectations, aspirations, and trust.
“There is something deeply moving about seeing people board an aircraft carrying not just luggage, but expectations, aspirations, and trust,” she said.
She added that many passengers were traveling to reunite with loved ones, pursue business opportunities, or simply take advantage of a new travel option within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
“Aircraft transport passengers physically, but what they truly carry are dreams, relationships, and opportunities,” she noted.
Acknowledging the challenges associated with launching an airline in Nigeria, Chiroma said meeting the industry’s stringent regulatory and operational requirements was among the company’s greatest tasks.
“There were mandatory certifications, personnel training programmes, infrastructure preparations, technical readiness requirements, and extensive stakeholder engagement. Rather than viewing these as obstacles, we saw them as essential foundations for sustainable growth,” she explained.
She emphasized that the airline’s guiding principle remains building responsibly and for the long term.
Chiroma also paid tribute to the airline’s founder and chairperson, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, whose leadership she described as instrumental to the successful launch of the carrier.
She said the chairperson’s vision, resilience, and unwavering commitment helped drive the airline from concept to reality, while ensuring that safety, compliance, and sustainability remained central to every decision.
The Group President further acknowledged the support of their father, Ahmed Dahiru, describing him as a constant source of encouragement throughout the journey.
The airline also highlighted encouraging customer feedback received during its first month of operations, with passengers reportedly commending the professionalism of flight crews, customer service personnel, and the overall travel experience.
According to Chiroma, the strongest validation comes from passengers who recommend the airline to friends, family members, and colleagues.
“That kind of endorsement cannot be purchased. It is earned through service,” she said.
BINANI AIR said it remains committed to listening to customer feedback and continuously improving its services, while maintaining a people-centred approach to business.
“We are building an airline that places people at the centre of every decision. We are not merely selling tickets; we are creating experiences built on trust, reliability, and genuine care for our customers,” Chiroma stated.
She praised the airline’s pilots, engineers, cabin crew, customer service officers, ground handlers, and administrative staff for their dedication during the carrier’s formative weeks.
As BINANI AIR looks beyond its first month of operations, management expressed confidence that the foundations laid in its early days will support the airline’s long-term ambitions within Nigeria’s aviation industry.
