The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced its 2026 Management Retreat, with a renewed focus on consolidating ongoing reforms, strengthening institutional capacity, and advancing sustainable growth across the nation’s airport network.
Declaring the three-day retreat open on Thursday, June 5, 2026, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, said the gathering was designed to assess the Authority’s transformation journey and align its strategic priorities with emerging global aviation trends and international best practices.
The retreat, themed “Consolidating Gains and Institutionalizing Sustainable Growth,” brings together FAAN’s senior management team to deliberate on key issues critical to the future of the Authority and Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Discussions on the opening day focused on positioning FAAN for long-term success through sustained reforms, exploring global and African airport development trends, enhancing process standardization and performance management, as well as accelerating infrastructure modernization and operational efficiency across the country’s airports.
Participants also reviewed progress recorded under the MD/CE’s transformational agenda, with emphasis on embedding sustainable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation throughout FAAN’s operations.
The retreat is expected to generate actionable strategies aimed at strengthening institutional excellence, improving service delivery, and enhancing the Authority’s capacity to meet the evolving demands of the aviation industry.
