In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, TCN said restoration works were ongoing at the affected location in Yauri, where the collapsed transmission tower had been completely dismantled and decommissioned. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby states that its maintenance crew is working assiduously to rectify a fault on the 33kV NIPP feeder at the Kubwa 132/33kV Transmission Substation. The feeder tripped at 9:39am on Sunday, 20th September, 2026, on earth fault. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) maintenance team patrolled the feeder and certified it okay for restoration, a statement by the Company’s management noted.
