The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced the postponement of the commencement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course in Sokoto and Niger states due to ongoing renovation works at the orientation camps.
According to a statement issued by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the renovation projects are being carried out by the respective state governments to improve facilities at the camps.
The scheme said the orientation course, earlier scheduled to commence before the adjustment, will now begin on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The Cut-Off and Swearing-in Ceremony will take place on Friday, August 14, while the Closing Ceremony has been fixed for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The NYSC advised all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) posted to Sokoto and Niger states to take note of the revised schedule and avoid embarking on night journeys while travelling to their orientation camps.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, wished all prospective corps members safe travels and a successful orientation exercise.
