The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), His Excellency Comrade Philip Shaibu, on Sunday marked this year’s Father’s Day with an act of humility and devotion, serving as a mass server at Saint Agnes Catholic Church.
Shaibu, a former Deputy Governor of Edo State, joined other altar servers during the liturgical celebration, drawing commendation from worshippers who described his participation as a rare and commendable demonstration of faith by a public office holder.
The special Father’s Day Mass featured prayers for fathers and families, with emphasis on the virtues of sacrifice, leadership, and responsibility. Observers noted that Shaibu’s role at the altar reflected the core values of service and commitment associated with fatherhood.
Speaking after the service, the NIS Director General congratulated fathers across Nigeria for their unwavering dedication to their families and their contributions to societal development.
