Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), is set to deliver the 2026 Annual Reunion Lecture of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The three-day reunion, scheduled for Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10, will be held at the prestigious Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
According to a statement jointly signed by Prof. Sirajudeen Obayopo, Chairman of the Planning Committee, and Ibraheem Fagbenro, Public Relations Officer, Issa-Onilu will speak on the conference theme, “The Potentials Within Nigeria.”
The organisers said this year’s conference aims to bring together distinguished alumni, professionals, policymakers, and thought leaders to explore Nigeria’s untapped opportunities and map out strategies for sustainable national development.
Prof. Obayopo stated that the event will be chaired by Alhaji Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, Managing Director/CEO of Matrix Energy Ltd, while the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Adebayo Simeon Bamire, will attend as Special Guest. Alhaji AbdulRafiu Ebiti, Chairman of the UNIFEMGA Board of Trustees, will serve as Chief Host.
Other dignitaries expected include Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), Vice Chancellors of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN), Summit University Offa, Prof. Musa Aibinu, Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun, Prof. Akeem Lasisi, as well as Prof. Abubakar Sanusi, Chief Imam of OAU, among others.
Highlights of the reunion include a Jumu’ah Service, courtesy visits to the OAU Vice Chancellor and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, as well as a networking dinner featuring the UNIFEMGA Investors Forum 3.0 on Friday, May 8, hosted by Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti.
Other activities lined up are the UNIFEMGA Investors’ Forum, modelled after the popular TV show Dragons’ Den, where entrepreneurs will pitch business ideas to prospective investors. A panel session on “Building a Value-Driven Enterprise in Nigeria” will also feature during the networking dinner.
Additional reunion programmes include a welcome reception, student picnic, scholarship grant presentations, Annual General Meeting, student empowerment initiatives, keep-fit exercises, medical check-ups, and novelty matches among branches.
Speaking ahead of the event, UNIFEMGA National President, Alhaji Mohammed Buari, said Nigeria possesses enormous resources and talent, stressing that the conference is a call for citizens to collaborate and unlock the nation’s vast potential.
With over 300 delegates, including participants from the diaspora, already registered, the 2026 reunion conference is expected to be a major gathering of minds committed to unity, progress, and nation-building.
