Condolence Message from the Nigerian Diaspora Coalition for Change (NDCFC)

It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that the Chairman, executives and members of the Nigerian Diaspora Coalition for Change mourn the passing of Chief Audu Innocent Ogbeh, a statesman of rare vision, who departed this life on August 9, 2025, at the age of 78.

His departure marks the end of an era in which public service was often ennobled by intellect, humility, and an unyielding sense of duty.

As Federal Minister of Communications in the Second Republic, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, and later Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Ogbeh distinguished himself through intellectual rigour, policy innovation, and an unwavering commitment to national progress.

His tenure in agriculture, in particular, was marked by strategic reforms aimed at strengthening food security, empowering farmers, and revitalising rural economies. These were not merely administrative acts but expressions of his deep belief that a nation’s prosperity must be rooted in the well-being of its people.

Beyond political office, he was a man of letters and ideas, whose voice carried moral weight in national discourse. Whether addressing the challenges of governance, advocating for rural development, or contributing to Nigeria’s literary heritage, Chief Ogbeh exemplified a rare blend of statesmanship, creativity, and principled leadership.

Chief Ogbeh will be remembered not only for what he achieved, but for the integrity and grace with which he served. He was a man who brought dignity to public office, vision to national policy, and humanity to political life. His absence will be deeply felt across Nigeria and within the global Nigerian community.

To the Ogbeh family, the people of Benue State, and all Nigerians, we extend our heartfelt condolences. May the memory of his life’s work inspire present and future generations to lead with courage, wisdom, and an unshakable devotion to the common good

Signed:

Obehi Oribhabor
Director of Communications.
