The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended his warmest congratulations to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Hon. Dr. Mamadou Tangara on the joyous occasion of their Independence Anniversary.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry’s acting Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, noted that Ambassador Tugar commemorated this significant milestone in the nation’s history, noting that Nigeria celebrates with the remarkable progress and resilience that The Gambia has demonstrated over the years.
Additionally, he said, Nigeria and The Gambia share a long-standing relationship rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a common vision for a prosperous and united Africa.
“We remain committed to strengthening these ties while collaborating closely on regional and global issues for the benefit of our people.
“Therefore, on this special day, we reaffirm our solidarity with the Government and People of The Gambia and look forward to deepening our bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
“We therefore wish the government and the people of The Gambia peace, prosperity, progress and Nigeria’s continuing friendship and support”, he said.
