The second batch of returnees numbering 130 have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from Port Sudan on Friday, 5th May, 2023.
The Nigerian nationals; 128 females and 2 males that departed Port Sudan International Airport landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at 3:15 pm via Tarco Airline B737-300 Aircraft.
The returnees comprising men, women and children were received at the airport by top government officials.
Recall that the first batch of evacuees from Aswan, Egypt numbering 376 arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday 3rd May, 2023 at 11:40 pm aboard the Nigerian Air Force (NAF C130) aircraft which brought back 94 persons while Air Peace Airline brought back 286 persons.
The evacuation is in line with the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government in ensuring the evacuation of Nigerian nationals from Sudan.
The Federal Government has said that it is committed to evacuating all affected Nigerians back to the country.
