The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development said it has paid the sum of N80,460,000 to 2,682 internship participants under its Work Experience Programme(WEP) Initiative.
These payments are for the months of August and September 2021, covering the participants in both the North and South, a statement by the Director Press, Manga Mohammed noted.
A breakdown of the payments shows that the number of beneficiaries in both zones also witnessed increases.
In the North, the number of participants increased from 620in August to 847 in September while in the South, the number increased from 449 in August to 766 in September.
The Work Experience Programme(WEP) Initiative is a three month internship programme that provides participants with the opportunity to gain relevant first hand knowledge, develop skills and workplace competencies that will enhance their employability.
