Nigeria’s high jump record holder, Temitope Adeshina, has sponsored the women’s high jump event at the 10th anniversary edition of the Athletic Heat Meet to support emerging athletes.
The competition is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the YabaTech Stadium in Lagos, with a total prize purse of ₦200,000 for the top four finishers in the women’s high jump.
The winner will receive ₦100,000, while the second-place finisher will earn ₦50,000. The third- and fourth-place finishers will receive ₦30,000 and ₦20,000, respectively.
Adeshina’s sponsorship follows an impressive 2026 season in which she won both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor High Jump titles for Texas Tech Track & Field.
A Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and two-time African Championships silver medallist, Adeshina has continued to distinguish herself internationally while inspiring young Nigerian athletes.
Her support for the event is aimed at providing emerging athletes with opportunities to showcase their talents while earning financial rewards as they pursue their careers.
The initiative also forms part of Athletic Heat’s 10th anniversary celebrations, recognizing the competition’s contribution to athletics development over the past decade.
Athletes interested in participating in the meet have been encouraged to register through A3 Tickets.
The anniversary meet will be held under the theme, “10 Years of Impact. A Legacy That Keeps Running.”
The press release was signed by Maxwell Kumoye, Chairman of the Media Committee of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).
