The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishment of Nigeria (APPMEN) will inaugurate its Lagos State Council on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen private media ownership and promote professionalism in the industry.
The inauguration, scheduled for 11 a.m., will take place at No. 133, Idimu-Ejigbo Road, adjacent to Christ Land School, Alimosho, Lagos State, under the theme, “Voice, Vision, Purpose.”
The newly appointed leadership of the council comprises Princess Agbonifo as State Coordinator and Onome Naomi Onojaefe as State Publicity Secretary.
The National Coordinator of APPMEN, Chief Precious Enebuse, described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the association’s strategic expansion and efforts to reposition private media ownership in Nigeria.
Enebuse said Lagos, regarded as the country’s media hub, required a vibrant and coordinated council to champion the interests of private media proprietors, promote professionalism and strengthen the contribution of responsible private media to national development.
According to him, the theme reflects the association’s commitment to giving private media owners a stronger voice, providing a clear vision for sustainable media enterprises and promoting purpose-driven journalism in the country.
He called on private media proprietors, publishers, bloggers, online television and radio operators, and other media entrepreneurs in Lagos State to attend the inauguration and participate in the association’s activities.
Media practitioners and members of the public have also been invited to the event.
