The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has extended its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in London and Manchester from September 19 to October 3, 2026, following strong demand from Nigerians in the United Kingdom.
A statement issued by NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, said the exercise has run smoothly despite initial hitches on its first day, with 1,477 applicants successfully enrolled within the first four days. Over half of those processed have already had their passports produced and dispatched.
The extension was approved by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to accommodate the continued surge in applications.
NIS reiterated that the process remained fully automated and cashless, with no extra charges for participating in the exercise.
Standard passport fees apply: $162 for a five-year booklet and $242 for a ten-year booklet.
Eligible applicants are to book appointments through the Nigerian High Commission UK website and bring a Completed application form and payment receipt, Appointment slip for the intervention exercise. Current passport, where applicable, A self-addressed return envelope following their scheduled session.
Further details on extended dates, locations, and appointment procedures will be released through official NIS and High Commission channels.
