Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has appointed Bright Osehai Ozebagbe and Deniran Ortega as his assistants for the Nigerian Olympic Eagles as preparations begin for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Chelle, who also oversees the Olympic Eagles, described the two coaches as among Nigeria’s brightest young coaching talents, citing their impressive profiles and experience.
Ozebagbe is the Technical Adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League side, Ikorodu City, who narrowly missed out on a continental ticket on the final day of last season.
Ortega, on the other hand, is a UEFA-licensed coach trained by the Scottish Football Association and currently serves as one of the assistant coaches of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles.
The appointment is part of Chelle’s early preparations for Nigeria’s qualification campaign for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The Franco-Malian tactician has already briefed the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) on his plans and preparations to secure qualification for the Games.
According to the NSC, camping for the Olympic Eagles will open soon in Abuja ahead of the team’s qualifiers scheduled for November 2026.
The Nigerian Olympic football teams, both male and female, are under the supervision of the NSC, which is targeting not only qualification for the Games but also a podium finish in Los Angeles.
