The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission from 2021 to date to accept or reject such offers, moving the cut-off from Monday, 31st August 2026 to Wednesday, 30th September 2026.
Recall the Board had earlier fixed 31st August 2026 as the deadline for all affected candidates to indicate their decision. It described the new date as a final opportunity for candidates yet to act to do so before the extended deadline lapses.
JAMB urged all candidates with pending admission offers — whether regular or through the Cooperative University Inter-Institutional Admission (CUIIA) process — to accept or reject their offers before 30th September, warning that inaction will affect the status of such admissions.
It said Candidates who accept their offers would be able to print their admission letters, while those who reject theirs will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted,” allowing the Board to keep its records accurate.
JAMB said the extension is meant to give all affected candidates one last chance to state their decision clearly and to help the Board maintain accurate and up-to-date national admission records.
The Board stressed that no further extension would be granted after 30th September 2026.
“Once the deadline passes, all outstanding admission offers dating back to 2021 that remain neither accepted nor rejected will be automatically reverted to “Not Admitted” and will stay that way in JAMB’s records”.
“Candidates have therefore been strongly advised to act promptly rather than wait until the last minute, as failure to accept an offer within the stipulated period will render it invalid”.
