Governor Ademola Adeleke has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election, securing a second term in office.
Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate and incumbent governor, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
The result was announced by the Osun State Governorship Election Returning Officer, Professor Joshua, following the collation of results from across the state.
Speaking shortly after his victory, Adeleke thanked the people of Osun State for reposing their confidence in him and expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for congratulating him on his electoral victory.
The governor said he would work with other contestants and stakeholders in the interest of the state, stressing that there was “no winner and no vanquished” in the election.
He also expressed hope that his closest rival, Oyebamiji, would call to congratulate him on the outcome of the election.
Adeleke said his administration’s next phase of development would focus on transforming Osun from a civil-service-dependent state into an industrialized state.
The governor attributed his victory to God and thanked Him for granting him success at the polls.
Fourteen registered political parties contested the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
