The organizers of the 2026 Enugu City International Marathon have unveiled six major corporate partners for this year’s edition, strengthening private sector support for one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing international road races.
Nilayo Sports Management Limited announced that Aquafina Premium Drinking Water, Pinnacle Oil & Gas, African Pits and Quarries (APQ), Power Oil, Afia TV and Radio, and Enugu Air have joined as official partners for the marathon, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026.
According to the organizers, the partnerships span key sectors including hydration, energy, infrastructure, health and wellness, media, and aviation, reflecting growing corporate confidence in the marathon’s potential to become a leading sporting event in Africa.
Aquafina Premium Drinking Water, a brand of Seven-Up Bottling Company, was named the Official Refreshment Partner and will provide hydration support for runners through strategically located water stations, finish-line recovery areas and support points along the 42-kilometre course.
Nilayo Sports Management Limited said Aquafina’s association with healthy living and hydration aligns with the marathon’s commitment to delivering a world-class race experience while promoting wellness and endurance.
Pinnacle Oil & Gas joins as the Official Energy Partner and will support race infrastructure, operational logistics and fan engagement activities. The company said its involvement underscores its commitment to youth empowerment, sports development and economic growth, particularly in South-East Nigeria.
African Pits and Quarries (APQ) was unveiled as an Official Corporate Partner and will contribute to route preparation, event production and community engagement initiatives. The organizers noted that the partnership reinforces efforts to position Enugu as a destination for sports tourism and major international sporting events.
Power Oil will champion health and wellness campaigns throughout the marathon, leading healthy lifestyle activations and educational programmes during the marathon expo and race-day activities. Nilayo said the partnership highlights the event’s broader objective of encouraging active and healthy living beyond elite competition.
Afia TV and Radio has been named the Official Media Partner and will provide extensive television and radio coverage before and during the marathon, including athlete interviews, race-day broadcasts and live updates. The broadcaster is also expected to showcase Enugu’s culture and tourism potential to audiences across Nigeria and beyond.
Enugu Air completes the list of official partners as the marathon’s Official Airline Partner. The airline will support the transportation of elite athletes, officials, dignitaries and sports tourists travelling to Enugu for the international event.
