President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been applauded for his sterling leadership that earned the All Progressives Congress, APC victory at the last Saturday Gubernatorial Election in Ekiti State.

Lanre Adebayo, PhD, the Director General of The Progressive Institute, TPI, Abuja who made this known in a statement, explained that the APC’s success in Ekiti underscores the quality  of leadership that exists within the ruling party, adding that it is a testimony to the laudable achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu’s government which has placed Nigeria on a pedestal of sustainable development and accelerated growth.

While congratulating the winner of the election, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, the DG in the statement signed by Olawale Abideen, commended the President and the Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yiwatda led leadership of the APC, describing the ruling party as the best thing that has  happened to Nigeria’s democratic journey.

Dr. Adebayo also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for the successful conduct of the election. The APC Think Tank described the election as free, fair and credible. “There was no reported case of rigging. There were no fights, no violence, and no atmosphere of fear. People moved around freely, and the entire process went smoothly”, the TPI DG said, affirming that the electioneering process in Nigeria is undoubtedly the best in Africa.

Commending INEC, the DG said; “We are proud of the conduct of the electoral umpire. INEC made the voting process easier for Ekiti State registered voters. Many people believe that if they do not have their PVC with them, they cannot vote. However, the experience during last Saturday’s election pointed otherwise as INEC provided at each polling unit, the lists of all registered voters  which were pasted on the wall for easy access.

“Voters thereby went to the list, identified their names, and wrote down the last six digits of their PVC number. Then proceeded to the accreditation point, provided those six digits, and the BVAS brought out  their details for verification. Once successfully accredited, they proceeded to vote. This is a commending gesture”,he stated.

Dr. Adebayo urged Nigerians to support the government and the democratic institutions in the country so as to keep enjoying government provided by the people and for the benefits of the people.
