The Executive Chairperson of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on the extension of his tenure by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the decision as a recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to national service.
In a congratulatory message signed by the spokesperson of the commission Ademola Lawrence issued on Monday, Omidiran said the tenure extension reflects the confidence reposed in Adeniyi’s ability to sustain ongoing reforms, strengthen institutional efficiency and advance the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
According to her, the Customs boss has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication, resulting in significant progress within the Service.
“The extension of your tenure is a testament to your outstanding leadership, dedication and the remarkable progress recorded under your stewardship of the Nigeria Customs Service. Your commitment to reforms, accountability and service delivery has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and stakeholders,” she stated.
Omidiran commended Adeniyi for his professionalism, transparency and efforts in improving revenue generation, facilitating trade and enhancing border security, noting that these achievements have contributed positively to Nigeria’s economic growth and national development.
She further highlighted the critical role of the Nigeria Customs Service in supporting government policies, promoting legitimate trade and ensuring economic stability through efficient operations and innovation.
Omidiran expressed confidence that the Customs Service would continue to record greater achievements under Adeniyi’s leadership.
“As you commence this renewed phase of your service, I wish you greater wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance. May your extended tenure bring further achievements and lasting contributions to the growth and prosperity of Nigeria,” she added.
