As Christians across Nigeria celebrate Easter, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged citizens to embrace hope, unity, and collective responsibility in the face of the nation’s challenges.

In its Easter message, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, reminded Nigerians that Easter represents the power of renewal and the possibility of rising above hardship. He emphasized that despite the difficulties facing many families, hope is not lost.

“Across the country, people are weary. Families are anxious. Many do not feel safe, and others are struggling to survive,” the message noted. “But Easter tells us this is not the end. We can rise, rebuild, and move forward together.”

CAN stressed that leadership at all levels must reflect empathy and action, urging leaders to demonstrate visible commitment to improving the lives of citizens. According to the message, Nigerians are not just seeking words but meaningful results that can restore confidence in governance.

The association also called on the Church to remain steadfast in offering guidance and support to those in need. It urged religious leaders to remain a source of hope and direction for citizens searching for reassurance in difficult times.

Addressing Nigerians, CAN encouraged unity and resilience, warning against fear and division. It called on citizens to support one another and resist forces that seek to deepen insecurity and mistrust.

“Easter is more than a celebration; it is a decision to rise above our differences and confront what holds us back,” the statement read.

CAN concluded that if Nigerians choose unity and solidarity, the nation can overcome its challenges and experience meaningful transformation.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
