As Nigerians gear up for the 2025 Easter celebrations marked by increased travel and traffic, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has called for calm, discipline, and cooperation on the nation’s highways.

In a special Easter message, the FRSC Chief emphasized the need for strict compliance with traffic regulations to avoid road crashes, injuries, and preventable loss of life.

“Easter is a time of sober reflection. Let the lessons of the season guide us to drive with care, patience, and consideration for other road users,” he said.

To ensure a safe motoring experience during the holiday, the FRSC has launched a nationwide special operation with the deployment of adequate personnel and logistics to strategic corridors and notorious black spots.

“Our officers are fully mobilized to manage traffic, respond to emergencies, and remove obstructions to prevent congestion and unnecessary delays,” Mohammed explained. He urged motorists to cooperate with law enforcement agents and volunteers working to ease traffic flow during the festivities.

While commending FRSC officers and other security agencies for their commitment and sacrifices, the Corps Marshal also appealed for continued collaboration beyond the Easter period. He encouraged the public to report any emergencies or traffic issues by calling FRSC’s toll-free emergency line: 122, or tuning in to the National Traffic Radio on 107.1 FM.

Above all, the Corps Marshal extended warm Easter wishes to Nigerians, urging them to celebrate safely and responsibly. “Let this Easter be joyful, peaceful, and most importantly, safe for everyone,” he concluded.
