In a bid to enhance its staff productivity and welfare, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has commissioned a standard fully equipped clinic, 3 electric motorcycles, a standard gym with creche, and a 500 KVA generator to ensure constant power supply to the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the Director, Press & Public Relations in the ministry, Ozoya Imohimi, said the provision of these new facilities is in line with Pillar Six of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), which focuses on improving the welfare and well-being of civil servants.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, while conducting the Minister round the projects, said the gym is named, “Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Wellness Centre”, in recognition of the Minister’s contributions, adding that the facility is set to enhance the fitness and productivity of staff. The centre includes a creche, which was established to support nursing mothers in caring for their children while at work.
Also at the commissioning, the Staff Union Chairman, Comrade Ukpenatus Bassey, appreciated the Minister and management for procuring a Toyota Coaster bus for the Orozo route, which he said would ease transportation challenges for staff living in that area.
“The commissioning of these facilities marks a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to prioritize the welfare of its staff and improve their working conditions,” he said.
