In a bid to renew its shared sense of duty and commitment to the core mandate of Federal Civil Service Reforms, the Ministry of Interior has launched a Performance Management System (PMS) for improved service delivery.
Speaking during the Directors’ Performance contract signing ceremony and launching of the Performance Management System (PMS), on Thursday in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, said the PMS was very vital for improved service delivery, increased efficiency and productivity to the national economy.
Dr. Ajani stated that the contract signing ceremony was a covenant of accountability and a promise to join forces with President Bola Tinubu to deliver his aspirations to Nigerians as was signed by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tuji-Ojo, in the Ministerial Deliverables/Bond and other core mandate of the Ministry.
“This contract serves as a departmental roadmap that will help the Ministry track its performance and timely escalate our reports to the Central Delivery Coordinating Unit (CDCU), the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) Office, the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning Offices among others thereby contributing our quota to the Economic Development of our Nation”, she added.
“My dear Directors and Officer Overseeing our Departments present, let your signature stand as a symbol of your dedication and a pledge to hold yourselves constituency accountable for delivering on your departmental functions and responsibilities.
“You are aware that what is being signed is not exhaustive but as you cascade to your officers, the Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, Chiefs/Sectional heads (as applicable) the Departmental deliverables and functions shall be exhaustive. The trained PMS Champions and our resource persons shall be available to help drive the cascading process”, she noted.
She stated that the Office of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCF) has directed all Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to dedicate Thursdays of every week as Performance Management System Day.
