FG Assures Air Peace of Ease of Doing Business As Airline Marks a Decade of Operation

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has assured Air Peace that the government will always work to enable their ease of doing business.

This is just as he noted, that the collaboration between the public and private sectors is the ingredient of a thriving economy, and so “we must engage in open dialogue, share insights, and work together to craft solutions that are peculiar to our realities. You are our pipeline to a grand economic growth”.

The Vice-President who was represented by the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Said Alkali at the Air Peace 10th anniversary celebration in Lagos on Friday, October 25, 2024, noted that a decade of operations is enough for any enterprise to become a model—not because it is perfect, but because it has weathered the storms to come this far.

He added that these are lessons for existing and aspiring businesses, even outside the aviation sector.

In his words, “Ten years is a long season in the lifespan of any aviation enterprise. It’s a stretch that can shape the skies. This milestone for Air Peace is truly written in the sky, both literally and metaphorically.

“We are gathered here today not only to celebrate this decade of resilience, innovation, and leadership in the Nigerian aviation industry, but to reflect upon the examples set by Air Peace and its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, in flying the Nigerian flag beyond our expectations, beyond our horizons.

“Today, we are not only reminded of how far Air Peace has gone in its flight to connect cities, dreams, and aspirations across the nation and beyond. We are here, first of all, to recognize the immense contribution Air Peace has made to Nigeria’s aviation sector and to our national pride.

“We are grateful to Air Peace for what it has endured to expand our domestic routes, as well as for reaching international destinations, positioning Nigeria as a major hub for air travel in the region”, he said.

He further noted that as a government, they are proud to witness the strides Air Peace has made, adding that it is a reflection of what Nigerian businesses can achieve when given the right support and environment to flourish.

“We are here to create such an environment—a pro-business, pro-investment climate where Nigerian companies can thrive, innovate, and lead on the global stage. Air Peace is a Nigerian product, a Nigerian pride, and every well-intentioned Nigerian must share in the triumph of how it has maintained a steady fleet and expanded its routes.

“We saw the height of Air Peace’s patriotism each time Nigerians needed them—whether in bringing back our citizens stuck in conflict zones in Sudan, our citizens stranded in Libya, or our citizens fleeing xenophobic attacks in South Africa, Air Peace has always answered the call of the nation. For this, we say thank you to our friend and brother, Mr. Allen Onyema, and the entire Air Peace family. It took courage to prioritize the love of your nation over your commercial gains.

“Today, I wish to assure you that we will always work to enable your ease of doing business. As we celebrate this remarkable achievement today, I want to appeal to you to prioritize the people. Listen to them and carry them along in your flight to dazzle the aviation industry.

“Congratulations on your 10th anniversary, Air Peace, and may the next chapter be even more extraordinary”, he concluded.
