The recently appointed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr Aishatu Goggo Ndayako, has pledged to deliver in her new tasks and also sought the support of the Ministry’s members of Staff.
In a statement on Friday by the Deputy Director of Press of the ministry, Afonja Ajibola, the Permanent Secretary who officially reported for duty, promised to work as a family in a cohesive manner to deliver on the 8-point agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“It gladdens me to hear from the Director, General Services, Dr. Peter Egbodo, that I am meeting a well trained Management and staff and I urge for your cooperation to work together as a family.
“Also, it is a rare privilege to be appointed to serve my country in the capacity of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior. I therefore pledge to deliver in my new tasks while seeking the support of the Ministry’s members of Staff”, she added.
The new Permanent Secretary thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding her worthy of the appointment and subsequent posting to the Ministry, and promised to do her best in making the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President come to bear in her service delivery to Nigerians.
She also thanked Staff and the Management Team for the warm reception accorded her and her entourage.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, Joint Services, Dr. Peter Egbodo, congratulated the new Permanent Secretary for her deployment to the Ministry of Interior.
Dr. Egbodo said the Ministry of Interior plays a very critical role in the infrastructure of internal security of the country with enormous challenges.
He added that the confidence the government has on her and track records of the Permanent Secretary evidently cleared that she is not new to challenges.
The Director assured her that she is meeting well trained civil servants who know their responsibilities in the discharge of the Ministry’s mandates.
In attendance were Directors and staff of the Ministry, Technical team of the Permanent Secretary and family members.
