Former Anambra State Governor and frontline presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, has resigned his membership of the party and withdrawn from the 2023 presidential race.
In a letter addressed to the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, dated Tuesday, May 24, 2022, Obi said recent developments in the Party has made it practically impossible for him to continue participating and making constructive contributions.
While noting that the Nation’s challenges are deep-seated and requires making profound sacrifices, he told the PDP National Chairman that his commitment to rescuing Nigeria remains firm, even if the route differs.
