Spokesperson Atiku Abubakar Campaign, Buba Galadima has on Monday raised an alarm ahead of the March 9 Governorship elections, alleging that there are plans to deploy military to take over governments of six states.
Galadima, who made the disclosures at the AIT morning show Kaakaki, listed the states to include; Sokoto, Kwara, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Kaduna and Benue states.
According to him, “As I speak to you now, they are deploying the military to take over the Government of sokoto state, kwara, Akwa Ibom and then subvert the elections in Rivers State so that it will be inconclusive for them to decide who should be governor.
“They are also subverting this… Benue is one area that the world should watch that they want to use the military to take over those governments by force of arms, even Kaduna state”.
He insisted that the military has no business whatsoever in electoral matters.
“It [election] is purely civilian, even the police they have to keep a distance until they are invited to intervene when there is a disagreement”, he said.
He further noted that the military is being deployed deliberately. “In the first instance, they started what you call Python dance and I have complained about this.
“In the 36 states of the federation including Abuja where they were even trying to change election figures, when general Buhari lost in the villa, they were trying, in fact they wanted to cancel the entire result for Abuja because they found it embarrassing for the president.
“If his performance really would be gauged and assessed by the Abuja residents who live with him in the seat of government where he was totally rejected by the people. So they deployed the military deliberately”, he stated.
