CAS to Teachers: Evolve Policies to Enrich NAF Educational System

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has urged teachers and school administrators to evolve policies towards enriching the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) educational system.

The CAS, made the call on Monday, at the Air Force Comprehensive School Kaduna while declaring open a 3-day training workshop for teachers and administrative staff of NAF Schools, tagged “Professionalism and Integrity in Education Management”.

Speaking on his behalf at the occasion, the Chief of Administration Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar, said the workshop would bolster the capacity of education quality assurance staff of NAF schools while providing effective professional training for teachers on educational management for improved teaching and learning.

He said the workshop would also focus on new orientation to enhance awareness of technology integration for efficient lesson delivery and administration.

Furthermore, he asserted that the lectures and interactive sessions would provide cross-fertilization of ideas and constructive deliberations to enable the participants proffer clear and practical recommendations useful to the NAF school system.

In his remarks at the event, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Suleiman, revealed that the CAS is a proponent of human capacity development for enhanced professional performance.

He therefore urged the participants to make the most use of the opportunity of the workshop to upgrade their knowledge while endeavouring to imbibe the attributes of a good teacher such as patience, compassion, empathy and discreteness for more effective service delivery.

Eighty teachers and administrative staff from various NAF schools are participating in the workshop while the resource persons include a former Director of Education and other seasoned education management specialists.
