The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has finally reacted to a picture and post that has been making the rounds on the social media, about him and some strippers.
Osinbajo narrated, that he attended an event and took pictures with two beautiful looking ladies but did not know that the ladies were strippers.
The Vice President who spoke on the matter while addressing questions bothering on free speech, at an Interactive Session tagged “Insights and Conversations”, with stakeholders in Abuja on Monday, said that his wife drew his attention to that particular story.
According to him, “The last time few days ago, my wife woke me up and showed me a post which said, ‘Osinbajo found with strippers’, and she said, what were you doing with strippers? And I said, sorry I can’t remember!
“So, I was at an engagement with entertainers, I took a photograph with two nice pretty looking ladies, it turned out that their day time job was actually stripping and I had no way of knowing that, you know”, he added.

He further said that there is a great amount of free speech going on in the country, but warned Nigerians of the consequences of using that avenue to spread hate and create confusion.
“I think that people say what they like and if you don’t like what they are saying, you can say it on social media. So, there is a lot of free speech in my own opinion, as a matter of fact, what we should be worried about are the consequences of some of the excessive freedoms that we have.
“So there is a lot of fake news, there is a lot of news that can create confusion in the country and these days, anything is out there in the media, anything, just about anything. People say… In fact there is nothing I haven’t heard.
“This is the sort of thing you find all over the place, but I think that there is a lot of free speech, I think that people say a lot , but we really need to be careful because some of what is going on, especially using media to promote hate, using media to promote division, the consequences can be very great indeed” he remarked.
While noting that there is no solution yet on how to regulate the social media, he hwoever called for caution.
“We need to be careful about that. No body knows that answer yet on how to deal with the social media but I think there is an important point that we should bear in mind. My respectable view is that we are doing very well with free speech in the country”, he ended.
