Ahead of the Osun State governorship rerun elections, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Iyiola Omisore has decided to enter into alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC), against the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Omisore, who has been under pressure from the PDP and APC, came a distant third in the inconclusive election and his home town, Ife happens to be among the four local government area where the rerun would hold.
The SDP candidate had failed initially to endorse any of the leading parties and urged his supporters to go with any party that shares the interest of SDP.
Omisore however changed course when he told Journalists at his residence in Ife, on Wednesday, that his party had decided to endorse APC.
“We have accepted to support the APC for victory in the rerun election tomorrow and thereafter form a coalition government,” he said.
The PDP which was leading the Osun elections with well over 300 votes are up for a good contest, following Omisore’s decision.
