The Federal Government has officially launched the 2017 ICT Roadmap 2017-2020.
The Minister of Communications, Dr. Adebayo Shittu speaking on Monday, disclosed that the intention of developing a roadmap, was to create broad and flexible pathways to ensure that ICT reaches all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.
He added that the sensitization program and launching of the Roadmap 2017-2020 had been deliberately planned by the Ministry, as part of its post roadmap engagements in furtherance of its desire to broaden continuous consultations with stakeholders in the private sector.
The Minister of Communications stated, that the event was aimed to provide every Nigerian with access to ICT, and improved quality of service delivery from the government.
Dr. Adebayo also held that without effective involvement of the private sector, in the implementation of the roadmap, its efficacy as a tool for harnessing the potentials of the sector will be fruitless.
He urged the private sector to grab the enormous opportunities offered by the roadmap and invest in the local content development to lift the nation’s economy to the next level as well as tap the gain of opportunity therein.
