As Muslims come to the end of Ramadan, the Federal Government has declared Friday, 15th and Monday, 18th June as public holidays, to celebrate the 2018 Eid-al Fitr.
Eid al-Fitr, according to Wikipedia, is an important religious holiday, celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Dambazau,who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated the Muslim faithful on a successful completion of the Ramadan.
Dambazau enjoined all Nigerians to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for the peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the nation.
He further said that the Government’s desire is for all Nigerians to be inspired by the virtues gained during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and to live a life of sacrifice, charity and love for one another.
The Minister encouraged all Nigerians to join hands with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari in taking the nation to greater heights and wished all Nigerians a happy, peaceful and rewarding Eid-al Fitr celebration.
