The game came alive at nine (9)minutes, as the center referee,Isaac Ogada awarded the home team, plateau United a well deserved penalty.

Former Nassarawa United player, Kawu Yaro Bature stepped forward and buried the ball in the back of the net, giving home team Plateau United, the lead from the spot at the 11th minute of the game.

Nassarawa United was reduced to 10 men when midfield general, Douglas Achiv was shown the way out after a dangerous tackle from behind on Plateau United hit man, Tosin Omoyele.

Plateau United were not able to capitalize on the one man short as Nassarawa United came stronger in the second half of the game and Olukokun Najeem rose passed the Plateau United defender and with a nod, sent in the equalizer for Nassarawa United with a world-class free kick from right full back, Oyedeji Samuel, to level the game 1-1 apiece at the 50th minute of the game.

Nassarawa United first choice goal keeper, Suraj Ayeleso, denied Tosin Omoyele several goal scoring opportunities in the 65th minute, to keep the game levelled at 1-1, that didn’t last too long as the introduction of Turba Benjamin for the home team Plateau United was a nightmare to the midfield and defence line of Nassarawa United.

Nassarawa United lost concentration in the 70th minute, which the peace boys capitalized on with a beautiful stunner from Reuben Bala at the 72th minute, making it 2-1 in favour of the defending champions, Plateau United.

The coach of Nassarawa United, kabiru Dogo congratulated Plateau United on the their win over his team Nassarawa United, saying that, they are a continental and the defending champion and more is expected from them.

Plateau United moved a slot up the table to 3rd, with an outstanding home game with Nigeria professional football league log leader Lobi Stars of Markudi, while on the 20th of May, Plateau United will be paying a visit to Rivers United for the week 22 of NPFL.
