Abuja:The Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib says to overhaul the Primary Healthcare system in the country, healthcare workers in the sector must sustain the tempo and passion with which they had carried out their work since the inception of this administration.
Dr. Faisal was speaking at NPHCDA 25th anniversary and Performance Awards Ceremony organised to honor outstanding workers.
He charged the health workers to discharge their duties with honesty and a high sense of responsibility in order to deliver on the mandate of the agency.
“As we look forward to another year, I want to challenge you to do all you can to become the next person to be celebrated among us. The new year presents each of us with the opportunity to make a difference.
“If we are going to change the immunisation coverage levels, reverse the poor indices for maternal and child health and overhaul the primary health care system, we must continue at the pace that we have begun”.
The NPHCDA’s Executive Director noted that the decision to establish the performance awards was borne out of the understanding that motivation of the staff is essential for improved productivity.
