Abuja-Ahead of the November 2017 Gubernatorial Elections in Anambra state, Senator representing Anambra South Federal Constituency, Senator Andy Uba, has on Wednesday picked his nomination form under the All Progressive Congress(APC), vowing to unseat Governor Willie Obiano.
The Senator who claimed to be accompanied by 40 senators, maintained that he remains the only aspirant of the APC that stands a chance in wresting power from the hands of the incumbent government of APGA in that State.
According to him; “If you look at all of us that are running, who has the best chance, who has the experience? I have been a Governor in Anambra State, I have been senator two times, I have my structure in the State. I have all the people that are working for me. So I don’t see why I cannot win the election”.
Chiding other APC aspirants for lack of preparedness, Senator Uba debunked reports suggesting that he intends to return to the PDP should he fail to emerge candidate of the APC, describing it as blackmail from his opponents who are threatened by his political pedigree in that State.
He said,”It is the others that are running that don’t have anything done, they have never won an election, they are not prepared to win an election.
“And we have a sitting governor, you need someone with capacity to be able to unseat him. With the support of my colleagues from the 36 States I don’t see how APC cannot win that election.
“Allegations of an intent to return to the PDP is a wicked lie and an effort to sabotage me because they know that I am on ground; I have my structure. No senator has done what I have done in Anambra State.
“I have declared on the floor of the senate, I will stand by APC. I am in APC now and nothing can make me change. I am not the type that runs up and down and you know me”.
In a similar development, another APC Candidate, Engr. Barth Nwibe who also picked form for the election, said that the ruling party in Anambra presently APGA was a fraud and he believes that the people of Anambra have realised that and are looking for a credible candidate, not party.
Nwibe stressed that he would provide quality and excellent leadership to transform Anambra state and as well create employment and make the economy very competitive.
He noted that coming from the private sector with clean background, he expressed believes that he will do very well.
