Abuja- President Muhammadu Buhari has on Sunday night left Nigeria for London for a medical follow-up.
This was announced on Sunday night in a tweet by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Adesina however disclosed that the length of stay of the President will be determined by London Doctors.
He also noted that the Government will function normally under Vice President Yemi Osibanjo
The tweet which read “@FemiAdesina PMB travels tonight for medical follow-up. Length of stay to be determined by London doctors. Govt to function normally under VP”, is coming less than 12 hours after a previous tweet announcing the arrival of the released 82 Chibok girls to Abuja.
The 82 Chibok girls who were released and flown down to Abuja three years after being in captivity, were however received by the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari on behalf of the President.
While Nigerians wishes the President a quick recovery, some are of the opinion that he should step down and focus on his health for speedy recovery.
According to a twitter user “@Enwagboso @FemiAdesina God heal him. I would advise he steps aside and focus on his health. Presidency should be secondary”.
