The Minister of Transportation, Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, has said that his Ministry will take seriously, the maintenance and sustainability of the new trains from China.
Recall that the Minister recently took delivery of the first batch of new trains built for Nigeria by CRCC.
The batch included two motored cars and four Locomotives, which he said, would soon be in Nigeria, as work is ongoing on the second batch of trains.
Replying to the concerns of some Nigerians over maintenance of the new trains, the Minister took to his Twitter handle @ChibuikeAmaechi to state thus, “I have seen some comments here on maintenance & sustainability of the new trains. We are taking that issue seriously & have made plans for it.
“One of the many things we are doing is that we have sent Nigerians to China for training & to understudy the Chinese manufacturers.
“After their training, the plan is to have these Nigerians run & maintain the trains & our rail lines”
He further added, “I met some of them in China on Wednesday & they are very eager to come back home to manage & maintain the new facilities & trains. Building #NextLevel human capacity”.
