Abuja: The Coalition of Civil Society Groups has threatened to hold the mother of all protests, should the Federal Government proceed with an alleged plan to arrest former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode.
Addressing Newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, the Coordinator of the Coalition, Emmanuel Olorunmagba called on the President to exert the same energy deployed to chase Fani-Kayode, in tackling the many security challenges bedeviling the country.
“We want to make it clear that any attempt to arrest Fani-Kayode will be resisted. And if the government goes ahead to arrest him, we will do everything legally possible to ensure his release.
“This includes, but not limited to peaceful physical mother of all protests, massive media protest, reaching out to the international community and other legal actions.
“And, we all know that such is not good for Nigeria at this time that the hammer of travel ban is hanging on some government officials in the country” he asserted.
While calling on the Federal Government to shelve the alleged plan to arrest Chief Fani-Kayode, the group further called on the European Union, United Kingdom, United States of America and the international community to intervene on the issue, saying that members of the main opposition party are almost becoming helpless victims in the hands of the Buhari administration.
