Wadume: Defence Headquarters Awaits Panel Report to Resolve Army-Police Rift

Abuja: The Defence Headquarters says it will take a decision towards resolving the rift between the Nigerian Army and the Police, once the investigative panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari is done with its work. 

Recall that Army was alleged to have killed three [3] Police officers and aided the escape of a suspected Kidnap Kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Bala, also known as Wadume, while being conveyed to Abuja by the police officers.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gabriel Olonisakin, while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the Dedication of the Remodeled Church Auditorium of the All Saints Military Church, Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja, said the Defence Headquarters is committed towards a peaceful resolution of the issue. 

The Defence Chief who was represented by the Chief of Defence Information, Major General Joseph Orokpo, also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the leadership of the country, stressing that the intervention of God is needed to put the nation in the right path.
