Abakaliki: Governor David Umahi,of Ebonyi state has been commended for restoring lasting peace in Ikwo local government area,and her Abakaliki counterpart,after the communal crises that erupted between the two local government which claimed many lives and property worth millions of Naira.
The chairman,Ikwo local government area, Elder John Nnabo gave the commendation during a chat with journalists at his council’s headquarters, Onuebonyi Echara.
The chairman who reassured his total commitment to the provision of social amenities to all nooks and crannies of the rural communities in the council area,called on the people of Ikwo Noyo clan to always embrace peace,without which no meaningful development would evolve.
He also commended the Christan Association of Nigeria(CAN),Ebonyi state chapter,for their role in restoring peace in the council,through the instrumentality of the governor, Engr.David Umahi.
Elder Nnabo who x-rayed some of his achievements recorded to include,sinking of ten boreholes,construction of roads,construction of Nwanoyo Township stadium,embarking on 6.5 km electrification project,installation of street lights through the state joint project,renovation and furnishing of Nwanoyo Resort Hotel which has since began full operation,and settling of intra communal and village crises among others,said the youths from Ikwo and Izzi clans has totally resolved to maintain peace as they now associate freely and attend functions together.
He assured the people of Ikwo Noyo clan that he would make his administration a memorable one,adding that he would prove his detractors wrong.
