The Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC),Mr Fidet Okhiria, has disclosed plans of the Corporation to hold a two-day retreat so as to set agenda for 2018.
The NRC Boss who told Newsmen over the weekend that the retreat would hold in February at Agbor, Delta state, confimed that the idea behind the retreat was to assess the achievements, look at the challenges and proffer a way forward, setting the goal for the organisation.
According to him, “We are planning to have the NRC retreat at the end of February that is where we set the agenda for the year, we reviewed what we have done before, in the previous years. What was the output, did we move forward or move backwards; we now set another target for the coming days, which will be held at railway village in Agbor.
“We will hold it in February because after this month it will be too late to start setting target, so it will definitely take place,” he said.
Okhiria noted that the retreat would have been held earlier in January but the organisation was trying to improve on the Abuja-Kaduna rail service and to make sure that Lagos-Ibadan was not lagging behind.
He said the railway village in Agbor was selected as the venue so as to use the money that will be spent on hotel to renovate the houses since operation would commence soon.
