Irked by the recent exposé of inhuman treatment of Nigerians abroad especially along the Mediterranean route, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), is set to mobilize other government agencies around the country, to curb irregular migration and educate citizens on the ills of unnecessary migration to foreign lands.
This was the outcome of a meeting between the Director General of the Agency Dr. Garba Abari and the National Coordinator of the Service Charter with All Nigerians, (SERVICOM), Mrs. Nnena Akajemeli which centered on how to stem the mass movement of Nigerians especially youths to foreign countries with the hope of a better life.
Dr. Abari who described the Paris Park Secret documentary shown on some international television networks as revealing, also condemned the attack on Nigerians abroad.
The Director General NOA, promised to collaborate with the relevant Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals(MDAs), to enlighten the citizens of the inhuman treatment of irregular migrant abroad and also creating awareness in changing the mindset of Nigerian youths through orientation programmes on love of nation and dignity of labour within the country.
On the observations made by SERVICOM on service delivery in the Agency, Dr. Abari said he will set up an internal committee to streamline the agency’s activities in line with the observations.
He also thanked the service delivery ombudsman for scoring the agency high in its operations especially on service delivery.
