In a bid to fashion out ways to get the nation out of the muddy waters of setbacks, mismanagement and a host of other ugly situations that is currently bedeviling it, ‘The Labour Room’, a reality television program is set to kickstart in Abuja.
The program which is organized by the Nigeria Rebirth Foundation will focus on 11 critical national issues bothering the nation which the 37 Governors, one from every state of the federation and the FCT, will be tackling in order to bring a long lasting solution.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja at a Press Conference, the National Coordinator of the foundation, Isaac Balami said that the program is all about bringing youths together, expressing belief that it is the right time for the youths to take over by fashioning the way forward, charting a course for peaceful coexistence and nation building in order for Nigeria to take her rightful place in the world as the true giant of Africa.
He said, “I think it is high time for the Nigerian youth to take their future into their own hands not by carrying guns, not by insulting elders but by coming together to discuss real issues”.
The 37 Governors who were carefully selected after a rigorous selection process from the entire states of the federation, highlighted some of the critical issues that they will be tackling in their base for the next 60 days.
At the end of the program, the last four contestants will get a N200 million seed capital to establish a local content driven company in the state of the winners with the highest score or to another state of one of the winners depending on the business but the company will be run by the last four contestants.
The program will be preceeded by a “Travail Concert”, featuring a host of Nigerian and international artists which will hold on the 1st of October at the International Conference Center(ICC) and will act as a curtain raiser.
The show will be devoid of sexual and romantic relationships amongst the contestants.
“The Labour Room” which is a quest to deliver a super nation will have social, political and economic issues raised and solutions proffered.
