Inflation Slows to 11.22% in June 2019

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)h revealed that the Year-On-Year inflation rate slowed to 11.22% in June 2019 from 11.40% in May 2019.

While month-On-Month inflation slowed to 1.07% from 1.11% in May 2019.

The Statistician General, Dr. Yemi Kale made this revelation on Monday in the June 2019 Inflation report.

According to him, “Food inflation slowed to 13.56% in June 2019 from 13.79% in May 2019; Core inflation slowed to 8.80% in June 2019 from 9.00% in May 2019”.

All times inflation on a Year-On-Year Basis was highest in Bauchi 15.40%, Kebbi 14.73% and Kaduna 13.91% while all times inflation on a Month-On-Month Basis was highest in Rivers 2.28%, Lagos 1.72% and Cross River 1.57%.

On the slowest rise on Headline inflation on a Year-On-Year basis, Delta 9.46%, Kwara 9.01%, and Bayelsa 8.56% while Month-On-Month had Bayelsa 0.42%, Kaduna 0.37% and Sokoto 0.31%.
