Abuja: Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Cross River State Chapter has advised Governor Ben Ayade to resign with immediate effect for his alleged incompetence in governing the State.
The State IPAC in a resolution also called on the State House of Assembly to reject the 2018 Kinetic Crystallisation Budget of N1.3 Trillion, describing it as Childish, unrealistic and fraudulent.
Addressing a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the State Chairs of IPAC, Pastor Sunday Michael warned that should the Governor fail to heed its advice to resign, he should perish any thought of recontesting for the office of Governor in 2019.
The State IPAC Chairman amongst other things accused the Ayade led government of carrying on with governance without the statutorily required Audit Accounts of the State for 2015 and 2016.
He alleged “that the refusal of the State Government to have its account audited by the Auditor General of the State, only goes to confirm the colossal fraud that has characterized the Ayade led style of government.
“We are further embarrassed that despite the absence of Audited Accounts for the State in the past 2 years, Cross River State House of Assembly has proceeded to consider and pass the State’s budget year after year. We are therefore at loss as to how and what figures the budget is based upon” he said.
Pastor Michael further accused the Governor of fatally abandoning all infrastructure in the State, causing it to deteriorate and breakdown.
“While the governor is busy touting his imaginary Super Highway to nowhere, internal roads in the State have been utterly abandoned and have become pothole ridden and impassable.
“We want the World to know that there is nothing like Super Highway in Cross River but andendless channel through with the governor is siphoning public funds” he said.
While urging the Federal Government to stop the disbursement of local government allocation to Cross River State, he called on State Resident Electoral Commission to as a matter of urgency conduct local government elections on or before January 31, 2018 INEC to end the 36 months of no-grassroot governance in the State.
