The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has countered the stories making the round that the pages of the new enhanced E-Passport are adorned with the symbols/cultural artefacts of a particular ethnic group.

In a statement on its Twitter handle, the Service said that the pages of the new enhanced e-Passport are beautifully adorned with the cultural symbols/artefacts of the various ethnic groups in the country.

It further said that many countries including Nigeria often use their vital public structures and documents to display their cultural heritage.

The Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, advised Nigerians who have been issued with this very Passport, to check through the pages to verify the Service’s position on the matter.
