COVID-19: UBA Donates N28.5m to Ebonyi State

ABAKALIKI: United Bank for Africa (UBA) has donated the sum of twenty eight million, five hundred thousand Naira (N28.5m) to the Ebonyi state government as part of their commitment in the fight against coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19).

Presenting the gift to the Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi in Abakaliki, the manager of the United Bank for Africa(UBA), Abakaliki branch, Mr Sam Agbo, said his bank was touched by the coronavirus pandemic which has threatened the world, and has reared its ugly head into Nigeria.

He thanked governor David Umahi for the proactive measures taken by his government to prevent the spread of the disease to the state, assuring that UBA will continue to identify with Ebonyi state government.

Responding, governor David Umahi, who was represented by the speaker, Ebonyi state House of Assembly, Chief Ogbonnia Nwifuru, thanked the United Bank for Africa for showing commitment through the donation. 

He urged other banks in the country to emulate UBA to help overcome the global pandemic, for the survival and unity of the country.
