The Chief of the Air Staff, Nigerian Air Force(NAF) Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar on Wednesday, inspected two prototype ventilators, locally-developed by a team from NAF Institute of Technology, Research and Development Centre and partners from a Nigerian University.

The CAS  who took to his Twitter handle @CAS_AMSadique to disclose this, noted that the team also repaired some existing ventilators and developed IR thermometers.

The Sight News gathered that the team had been tasked to develop low-cost, indigenous alternatives to equipment for tackling COVID-19.

According to the CAS, “In furtherance of our efforts to continue supporting the National response to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, we will sustain support to enable the team perfect its products for use once certified.

“While in Kaduna, I also inspected other R&D efforts aimed at enhancing @NigAirForce operational capability through indigenous technology application as well as the use of local resources”.
